First time the Government of Uttar Pradesh will organize National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (UG NEET) for admission to Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programmes. A huge number of candidates will appear in Uttar Pradesh NEET 2017 examination will be held in 2017-18.

Previously, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have organised National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test examination for academic year 2017-17, in which around 6.5 lakh candidates are likely to appear.

This entrance test is being conducted for the 15% merit positions in the Medical/Dental Colleges of India as specified in the directives of the Supreme Court and will be governed by the rules and regulations specified for the same by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India from time to time.

Ever since the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) was revived by Supreme Court in April, the state governments and private colleges have been to convince the court to allow them to hold tests at least for the current academic year.

The court's order has also created confusion in the minds of lakhs of medical aspirants. Medical aspirants are confused whether the examination they had appeared or about to appear would be valid or not. Meanwhile, states are conducting the examinations with hearing in the Supreme Court going on.

Selection Criteria for UP NEET 2017

In order to be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS courses for a particular academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile in ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test, held for the said academic year. However, in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks shall be at 40th percentile. In respect of General candidates with locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile. The percentile shall be determined on the basis of highest marks secured in All-India common merit list in ‘National Eligibility-cumEntrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS courses’.

Provided when sufficient number of candidates in the respective categories fail to secure minimum marks as prescribed in National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test held for any academic year for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses, the Central Government in consultation with Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India may at its discretion lower the minimum marks required for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses for candidates belonging to respective categories and marks so lowered by the Central Government shall be applicable for the said academic year only.

No candidate who has failed to obtain the minimum eligibility marks as above shall be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS courses.

Steps to fill Online Application for UP NEET 2017

A candidate can apply for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) only on-line by logging on to official website of Uttar Pradesh NEET 2017.

Before submission of online application a candidate must have to pay online fee for NEET Examination 2017. You can pay your examination fee through Debit/Credit Card using on-line gateway payment facility. Account with Post Office by downloading the Challan Form from the official website.

After Depositing Fee in the Bank/e-Post office, the Deposit Slip bearing Application Registration Number, Name and address of the Bank branch with branch code/Post Office with Pin Code where fee is deposited and transaction ID number be kept ready with you while logging on to website for final submission of PartII of the application form.

Step1. Firstly logged into the official website of UP NEET 2017.

Step2. Go to the link “Apply On-line” and open the same.

Step3. Now fill all mandatory details asking in web form Part-I and note down the registration number

Step4. Now pay online fee for UP NEET 2017 with available options such like Debit/Credit Card or download Challan for payment etc.

Step5. Fill in the on-line Application Form Part-II furnishing the details of fee deposited.

Step6. Take a printout of the auto generated Application form and Identification Certificate by presenting the Application No. and date of birth.

Method of Sending Confirmation Page for UP NEET 2017

Follow the instructions to take the print out of Confirmation Page and Address Slip of the Board’s Address to be pasted on any good quality A5 size envelope for sending the filled in Computer generated Confirmation Page along with other documents, if any, to the CBSE. Ensure that the print out of at least four copies of the Confirmation Page and one copy of the Address Slip are taken. Three copies of the Confirmation page may be kept safely by the candidate for any future need. One copy of the Confirmation Page may be completed as per instructions for sending it to the Board. The photocopy of this Confirmation Page along with the proof of fee paid and the original receipt issued by the Post Office may also be kept safely by the candidate. Candidates may ensure that the application number printed on application and on address slip is similar.
